How refreshing...

Our water is back on...

yummy. tapwater.

but it's more beer colored that clear. Ew. They still haven't told us if the water is safe to use or when it will be. It's a little annoying.

Water water everywhere...
and not a drop to drink. A water main broke in the middle of the street. We have no water at our place and probably won't until this evening or maybe even tomorrow. I have water in jugs in the fridge and there is a bathroom in our gym that I can use... But I really do need a shower. I hope it's on by tomorrow morning or I'm going to work early to shower there.

It's Miller Time!
I went into the garage last night to do some laundry. There are these shelves across from the washer and dryer that have all sorts of random garage-y type items on it. A bucket for washing the car, sponges, some tools, a few flower pots, spray paint, the usual... and a random can of Miller Lite. Closed too. Just one can. Hiding behind a flower pot on the second shelf. I have no idea how long it's been there.Doesn't it look so happy with it's friends?

ETA: Apparently if I list my entries as Friends Only, they don't show up on anyone's Flists. Weird.

A little Madness in the Spring Is wholesome even for the King.

I finished the side-to-side garter stitch scarf yesterday. It went so fast and turned out so well. I love the length, I love the colors, I love the fringe. Everything about it turned out great.

(Except the goddamned pictures which won't go where I want them to. Grrr.)

Anyway... I love this random-ness so much that I'm now going to make a blanket in the same way. I dug through the stash last night and pulled out all the red yarn I have. And there was a lot. Doug gave me some really pretty red for Christmas and that's one of the reasons I chose that cooler. It also happens to be my favorite cooler. XD

I cast on last night during the end of the Superbowl and got about 9 rows done. It looks great! I like the combination of all the different weights and textures of the yarn. Some of the yarn is so crazy bright, but it looks great mixed together. I'm going to keep very close track of how long it takes to make the blanket and hopefully I'll be able to make one for Mom for Mother's Day. I know she would love it. I pulled out a few balls of cream and off-white yarn while I was on my hunt. The original plan was to pepper the red with random streaks of cream, but now I'm not so sure. I kept it all out in it's own bag - just in case. I like the whole idea of just leaning over and grabbing a new ball every few minutes. It keeps the whole thing very fresh. I think if I were trying to follow a pattern or a repeat of colors I would get really bored... (See the striped blanket.)

When I woke up this morning I realised that I need to light a fire under my ass. I have a lot of bills due soon and haven't really made that much money this month. I'm going to get myself dressed and head off to one of the temp agencies to find some brainless work. I love working for my parents, but not having a set schedule is sort of messing with my body.

I officially have the best boyfriend ever.
It's been an odd weekend. Doug is on weekend duty this month, but didn't find out until midday Friday. He came to Wilmington for the evening which was nice, although we spent the majority of the night stuck inside a fondue restaurant. Very annoying. It was a 4 hour dinner. With no reason to be a 4 hour dinner. I was very unhappy by the end of the night. I got a migraine while we were sitting there and it hasn't fully gone away yet.

The best part of the day was my final Christmas gift from Doug. So far he had done a fantastic job. He found a beautiful edition of Hamlet from 1891. Amazing!!

Yes, I know it's now February, but something happened and there was a delay.

It's something from England...
According to the customs label it's a book...
It's a copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Paperback, UK children's edition...
It's a first edition...
AND IT'S SIGNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Interpol show thing is playing now. I wish I could save it so I can listen to it at work.

You were scared of me.
I just downloaded a much, much, much better podcatcher. The one I had blew. I won't mention the name of it in case anyone out there is a fan...

I now have iPodder. So much better and easier to use. My last one wasn't feeding stuff directly and when I would try to update it, it would freeze. I tried finding some troubleshooting hints, but nothing was readily available.

So I'm now subscribing to about 4 times as many podcasts as I was before.

(Oh, the definition of a podcast. I tend to ramble about them and people have no idea what I'm on about...)

Hey Nick, can we start building my new journal thing? I'd like to get a little more adventursome... And maybe have buttons.
